Growing Leaders Process

Growing Leaders is a process designed to help leaders stimulate meaningful 1-to-1 conversations that build higher trust relationships and create more productive work environments.

Leaders develop and hone their skills to practice the art of being a leader that builds strong relationships, creates high-performance teams, and gets results.  The Growing Leaders Process includes the following modules:

  • Orientation Session
  • Understanding Your Management Style with DiSC®
  • Creating Engaging Workplaces
  • Building Trust and Managing Expectations
  • The Listening Leader
  • Building Turbo Teams
  • Generational Differences
  • Graduation

Growing Leaders in Action

Learning is paced over a three to four month time-frame that includes self-analysis with personalized online profile assessments, exciting group activities, stimulating discussion topics, field assignments to practice strategies within the workplace, and individual coaching for each of the participants around their field assignments.

The entire process is measured using the New World Kirkpatrick Model:

  • Level 1: Reaction - The degree to which participants find the training favorable, engaging and relevant to their jobs.
  • Level 2:  Learning - The degree to which participants acquire the intended knowledge, skills, attitude, confidence and commitment based on their participation in the training.
  • Level 3:  Behavior Change - The degree to which participants apply what they learned during training when they are back on the job.
  • Level 4:  Results - The degree to which targeted outcomes occur as a result of the training and the support and accountability plan.

Orientation Session

The orientation session provides participants an overview of the Growing Leaders Process as well as sets expectations for their participation.

People Smarts for Leaders

Today’s people cannot lead with only one style. In fact, the most successful leaders are adaptable and able to bring the best out of their team.  Adaptability requires a high degree of emotional intelligence.  Emotional Intelligence, or People Smarts, is developed when a leader is clear about what drives his or her management behaviors and becomes more adaptable to each leadership situation.

Building Trust

People need to be able to trust each other in order to do their jobs and have effective working relationships. And yet, every day, there are situations that weaken and destroy trust between leaders and their employees.  This downward spiral eventually leads to lower morale and productivity.  Leaders will explore a trust model called D.R.I.V.E. They will challenge their own assumptions about trust and learn new strategies for building trust with their team.

The Listening Leader

Successful people know that good communication is not just about speaking well.  Effective listening is a relationship builder. Being listened to makes people feel valued, connected, committed, and relevant.  Leaders assess their listening strengths and weaknesses and learn strategies to maximize their range in applying five listening approaches.

Creating a Motivating Environment

Research shows that people cannot be motivated, but they can develop, grow and become self-motivated in workplaces that engage them. This module will help leaders learn key motivational strategies in the areas of: Directing, Delegating, Creating a Motivating Environment, and Developing Others.

Coaching for Improved Performance

Coaching is a proven strategy for garnering sustained superior performance in today’s challenging business climate. The impact of coaching is two-fold: to the organization and individuals. This session shows how to apply a coaching process, understand the underlying model, and develop specific coaching skills.

Building Turbo Teams

Successful teams do the right thing at the right time. A clear understanding of individual roles in the process of working together toward a common goal is the first step to creating cohesive, high performance teams.  “Building Turbo Teams” revolves around a self-assessment tool called which identifies five key roles in innovative team performance. The five key roles are: Creator, Advancer, Refiner, Executor, and Flexer.  Discover how each of these roles can interact successfully by using the “Z process” to get “unstuck” and achieve team results!

360s can be a frustrating experience for many leaders with unfocused, open-ended comments that are not helpful.  Everything DiSC 363® provides leaders with feedback that is focused, balanced, tangible, and constructive ... feedback that leaders can really use.  Why is it called 363®? The profile summarizes the top 3 strengths of the leader and the top 3 most requested shift in leadership behaviors based on the feedback of their raters.   The profile is designed to maintain rater confidentiality and identifies behavior trends that would be helpful for the leader to know about themselves.

Can I manage my own profiles for my team?

Yes, with an EPIC account, organizations or teams can manage and administer their own profiles.  We can set you up with an EPIC account, provide a tutorial to get administrators up and running, and provide you on-going support to manage your profiles.
