Trust:  At the foundation of a cohesive team is trust, a deep-seeded trust where people can reveal their most vulnerable self and not be afraid of judgement.  When people practice trust vulnerability, they are able to say “I’m sorry” or “reach out for help” and quickly turn around negative situations into a win for the team.

Conflict:  Conflict is healthy when people engage in healthy debate about ideas and concepts instead of personalities and intentions.  Cohesive teams challenge each other in order to mine for the most innovative and effective solutions in the shortest amount of time.

Commitment:  When people feel that their ideas are heard, commitment to team decision grows.  Clarity and buy-in are keys to team commitment.

Accountability:  Holding each other accountable is one of the hardest practices to maintain on a team.  But when people trust and feel safe, they can call out their peers on performance or behaviors that might hurt the team’s productivity.

Results:  Great teams ensure that everyone is focused and is doing their best to achieve the team goals.

Get a team scorecard.  The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team process starts with a team survey where team members confidentially respond to questions about each of the Five Behaviors. A ranking of each of the behaviors, measures the team’s level of trust, practice of engaging in healthy conflict, commitment, accountability, and shared results.

Resolve team issues.  The survey results reveals team strengths and weaknesses and helps the team to take a deeper dive into issues that may be holding back team effectiveness.

Set team agreements.  Create agreements on team behaviors to boost team effectiveness.

Measure team progress.  re-assess team progress with the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Progress Report, celebrate gains and make adjustments for improvements.

Our Strategic Planning Process includes the following phases:

  1. Orient and engage the Strategic Planning Team
  2. Assess the business environment
  3. Identify goal themes
  4. Identify key strategies and steps
  5. Create an action plan

Conversations are captured graphically and translated into a digital format to support communication and implementation of the strategic plan.
