TH!NK Turns Gratitude into a Tradition
At TH!NK, we love a good tradition, especially one that involves creativity, connection, and a little bit of fun. Since 2015, saying thank you to our clients has come wrapped in a box full of handmade fortune cookies.
This tradition started with a simple question: How can we thank our clients in a way that feels thoughtful? In our early days, we sent Thanksgiving gifts to express gratitude before the holiday chaos set in. But as we grew, we wanted something more unique, and that felt less like crossing something off a to-do list and more like us.
The idea came from a real-life connection. Through a kids’ sports team, TH!NK co-founder Sarah met Cheryl, one of the owners of Hawaii Candy, where fortune cookies are still made entirely by hand. Somewhere between practices and sidelines, inspiration struck. Why not send our clients fortune cookies around Lunar New Year, at a time that celebrates fresh starts and isn’t competing with stacks of holiday gifts?
It stuck. And nearly a decade later, it’s become a tradition we look forward to every year.
Each year we tie our theme to the Chinese Zodiac and associated animal. For 2026 – the Year of the Horse – our theme is Adventure.
Inside each box you’ll find 50 unique fortunes written by our team. Half are reflective and inspiring, like “Dream big. Pack light. Go far.” or “Comfort zones are beautiful places, but nothing grows there.” The other half are playful prompts designed to spark connection: “Give a high five to someone today,” “Invite someone new to lunch,” or “Dance in the hallway.” Because adventure doesn’t always mean hopping on a plane, sometimes it means trying something new.
We don’t stop at the cookies. Each box also includes a themed card and a small keepsake. This year, it’s a stuffed red horse to match the spirit of courage, momentum, and bold leaps forward.
And one of our favorite parts? Packing the boxes together. Every January, we gather at the Hawaii Candy facility, often with our family in tow, to assemble each gift by hand. It’s messy, joyful, and so much fun for our whole team.
At the end of the day, this tradition isn’t about fortune cookies. It’s about showing our clients how much we value them and finding creative ways to make gratitude feel personal.
